Garden History
Garden History In 2010, 5th grade teacher Liz Townsend, her class, and Eagle Scout candidate Bret Hoffman had the vision to bring the East Helena Public Schools and community together to create a community garden in East Helena. |
Program Goals: 1. Provide a lead and cadmium free garden area for student and community within the east Helena Lead Smelter Superfund site. 2. Provide community members with a secure community garden by April 15, 2011 that is fenced to prevent unauthorized access. 3. Initially, 5 classroom plots were established and used by the EHPS students by June 1, 2011. |
